We’re happy to announce that we’re ready to roll out the 4th and final phase of our plan to get Milford Building Supplies back fully operational by reopening our Skinner Lane branch on Tuesday 26th May at 7:00am.
We’ve put a lot of effort into planning the reopening of the Skinner Lane branch, to ensure compliance with Government Guidelines. We know that space is an issue and we must ensure that we protect the safety of everyone involved. We’ve looked at the successful safety measures we introduced at the Cardigan Road site and are confident that we’re able to replicate these at Skinner Lane.
We’ll have enough staff and space to safely serve 3 customers at a time and cater for up to 6 queuing vehicles in the yard to help reduce the traffic on the road outside the yard.
If you do find that the queues are too long please remember that the Cardigan Road site in Headingley is also open for collections.
As always we’ll try to serve customers as quickly as possible to keep the queuing time to a minimum. We hope you will understand that queues are a possibility and we would like to thank you in anticipation of your support and patience.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Kindest regards from the Milford team.

The recent Covid-19 crisis has made a real impact on our day-to-day lives. At very short notice we were forced to suspend our operations; a decision that was not easy to make.
From the day we established in 1979 we have never found ourselves in a position of not being able to offer our usual first class service to our customers – and although caused by Government regulations this has weighted down on us for weeks, however, we fully support the national efforts to stop the spread of Coronavirus and have done all we can to support the NHS.
Shortly following the lockdown restrictions we created a 4 phase plan to navigate through the situation and work towards getting back to some form of normality.
Phase 1 was to honour the deliveries already placed before the lockdown announcement on 23rd March and to continue a ‘delivery only’ service.
Phase 2 was to offer a ‘call & collect’ service to extend our services as much as safely possible during the strict Government lockdown period. We know this has been difficult for our very loyal and long standing customers. We would like to thank you for bearing with us. We will not forget it.
Today we are delighted to announce that the time has come for us to move on to our next phase.
From Monday 11th May we will be opening our Cardigan Road branch for a controlled collection service. Customers are free to turn up to the branch without the need to pre order. This should end the struggle of trying to get through on our sales lines which we know is very difficult at the moment.
We hope this will free up the phone lines for delivery enquiries and have increased our delivery service to maximum capacity to bring our lead times down much closer to our usual speedy service.
We will have enough staff and space to safely cater for 10 customers at a time and will try to serve customers as quickly as possible to keep the queuing time to a minimum.
We are looking forward to rolling out the 4th and final phase of our plan which is to reopen our Skinner Lane branch but with staff and space restrictions the time is just not right to do this safely. We will let you know as soon as this situation changes.
Kindest Regards from the Milford Team.

In line with Government advice, from Tuesday 14th April, we will be providing a Telephone Collection Service from our Cardigan Road branch. Simply call our sales team on (0113) 2789 171 to place your order, pay over the telephone in advance, arrive at your allocated time slot and collect your goods. We will also restart our delivery service – however, our Skinner Lane branch remains closed.
Please be assured that we will do all that we can to protect our colleagues, customers and their families by operating a contactless system which promotes excellent social distancing measures.
We understand that these are challenging times and we know things will take some getting used to so we thank you for your patience & understanding.
